
Jennifer has always wanted to become an all-purpose celebrity. As a child she indulged in a wide range of genres of music, but she particularly enjoyed Afro-Caribbean styles like salsa merengue and bachata, and popular music such as pop, hip-hop and R&B. She was an avid fan of film and music. West Side Story, a musical written by Rita Moreno (1961), was the most influential film for her. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was more than just an entertainer. She also spent eight years in an Catholic elementary school named Holy Family. Jennifer then was able to graduate after 4 years at Preston High School. Jennifer did well in sports at school and competed in tennis as well as the track and field. When she was in Castle Hill, she spent the majority of her time in a two story residence. Jennifer left home when she turned 18 and moved in with her family. Lopez started working in the law office, while also dancing at night.
